MRS. P. THOMPSON'S FUNERAL
Former Resident of West of Kelley Passed Away at Her Des Moines Home Friday.
From the Bethany church last Sunday afternoon took place the funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Pete Thompson, for many years a resident on a farm west of Kelley. She passed away on Friday at her home at Des Moines, the victim of pneumonia, from which she had been suffering for several weeks.
The services on Sunday were in charge of Rev. Duea. The singing included a solo by Miss Mae Ford and two duets by Miss Ford and Mrs. W. Johnson. Burial was made in the cemetery of the church.
Martha Nelson Thompson was born in Dane county, Wisconsin, December 18th, 1861. Moving to Iowa in 1883m she was united in marriage to Pete Thompson at Des Moines. After making that place their home for ten years they moved onto a farm west of Kelley, where they resided twenty years, when they again took up their residence in Des Moines and the last ten years of her life were spent at that place.
About four weeks ago she took sick with pneumonia and was taken to the Methodist hospital for treatment. Getting much better, she was removed to her own home, after which she suffered a relapse. She was taken to the Lutheran hospital, where it was found that nothing could be done for her and she was again taken back to her own home where she passed away on Friday the 6th.
She is survived by her husband and a brother and a sister, who live in Wisconsin.
