Funeral of Mrs. Dena Michelson

Services for Mrs. Dena Michelson were held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday afternoon at the Palestine Lutheran Church. Pastor Clyde Brueland was in charge and based his message on the 23rd Psalm.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fausch sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Asleep in Jesus." They were accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Noel Larson.

Pallbearers were all nephews of the deceased--Loren Johnson, Hubert Johnson, Merlin Johnson, Ellsworth Johnson, Dwayne Johnson and Marvin Johnson.

Interment was in the Palestine Cemetery.

Obituary

Dena Caroline Michelson, daughter of Michael and Carrie Johnson, was born on Oct. 6, 1890. She passed away at the Mary Greeley Hospital on Mar. 23, at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 17 days. She had been ill for two months.

Mrs. Michelson had spent her entire life in this vicinity. She was baptized and confirmed in the Palestine Church.

On Aug. 31, 1910 she was united in marriage to Jacob Martin Michelson, who preceded her in death on Jun 23, 1952.

Mrs. Michelson is survived by her children: four daughters, Mrs. Erma Rutter of Ames, Mrs. Caroline Rolfe of Britt, Mrs. Javerna Heggen of Ankeny and Mrs. Alvina Hall of Alleman; one son, Lester Michelson, of West Des Moines; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Louie Johnson and Oley Johnson of Huxley and Miller Johnson of Des Moines. She also leaves a host of relatives and friends.
