Last Rites Held For Hans Lundy
Funeral services for Hans Lundy were held Saturday afternoon at 1 p. m. at the Dahlstrom Funeral home in Des Moines. The Rev. Ruben Spong, pastor of Grandview Lutheran Church of which Mr. and Mrs. Lundy were members, was in charge of the services. Soloist was Maxine Becktel. Burial was in the Slater Municipal Cemetery.
Mr. Lundy was born in Olen, Norway, Sept. 2, 1868 and died June 11 at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines.
He came to the United States in 1887 and first lived at Sandwich, Ill. He later lived at Huxley Cambridge, Story City, Ames and for the last 30 years was a resident of Des Moines. He was in the butchering business.
He was united in marriage to Anna Annon of Sheldahl on Nov. 11, 1897. Two sons were born to this union, George H. and Ingman. Besides his wife and sons he is survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and his brother, Tom, of Slater.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.
Casket bearers were Bill, King and Gerald Schaudt, Orville Swanson, Kermit Johnson and Lewis Gilbert.
Those from Slater attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lundy, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Swanson, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Schaudt, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schaudt, King Schaudt, and Mrs. Alma Schaudt.
