A. D. Johnson Died Wednesday

A. D. Johnson, who had made Slater his home for many years and who is well known in this vicinity, died at 11:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames.

He was 64 years of age.

Mr. Johnson moved to Ames a number of years ago and at the time of his death was employed as a painter at Iowa State college.

He submitted to an operation for ulcers of the stomach about two weeks ago and for a time it looked as if he was on the road to recovery. His system was in a weakened condition, however, and although numerous blood transfusions were administered, he was no strong enough to withstand the shock.

Besides his wife he leaves to mourn his loss, a son, Luverne, of Des Moines; his aged mother, Mrs. Mary Johnson; a sister, Mrs. E. L. Croft, and a brother, S. W. Johnson, all of Slater, and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Nelson, of Faith, S. D.

The remains will be at the Riis Funeral Home here until Saturday morning. Funeral services will be held at the Adams Chapel in Ames at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Dr. Walter Barlow of Ames and Rev. E. R. Rorem of Slater will officiate.

Interment will be in the Slater cemetery, south of town.
