Services Here for Dorothy Larson
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Riis funeral home for Dorothy E. Larson of Kansas City. Rev. P. E. Onstad had charge of the service and spoke on the theme "Fallen Asleep in Jesus," using as a text I Thess. 4:13. Mrs. Arnold Sydnes sang "I Am But a Stranger here" and "Abide With Me." Pastor Onstad sang "I Know of a Sleep in Jesus' Name."
Services had also been held at Independence, Mo., prior to the remains being shipped to Slater.
Burial was in the family lot at the Slater cemetery.
Obituary.
Dorothy E. Larson was born at Ames on Sept. 1, 1920. She moved to Fulton, Mo., after the death of her parents, where she made her home with her sister and brother-in-law. She attended Drake university, where she was an outstanding student, interest in many activities.
She occupied three secretarial positions--one with the Missouri State Highway patrol, another with the Potts Caulkin Holden Adv. Co. in Kansas City, and the last four years with the Bruce Brewer Adv. agency in Kansas City.
Her gracious personality won her many friends and she was respected for her ability.
She died on June 28 at Kansas City due to diabetic coma. She had suffered from a diabetic condition since the age of 10.
Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Larson, who lived at Slater.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Clark of Independence, Mo., and Mrs. J. C. Tinney of Coleman, Tex.; two brothers, Cecil A. Larson of Ames and John H. Larson of New Hampton. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leslie Larson, of Huxley.
