Jeffery Rasmusson, age 90, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ at 250 E Avenue in Nevada with Pastor Steve Williams of the First United Methodist Church of Nevada to officiate. Burial followed at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Edith Rasmusson at 745 Timberland Dr. Apt. 301 in Story City, Iowa 50248.

Jeffery Herman Rasmusson was born March 28, 1915 near Nevada, Iowa to Lewis and Bertha Rasmusson. Jeff grew up in the area between Nevada and Roland, graduating from Milford High School in 1932. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland and he served as president of the congregation. On February 15, 1939 Jeff married Edith Maxine Hanson in Story City. They farmed six miles north of Nevada and retired to Nevada in 1979. Jeff was president of Toastmasters and the PTA of Milford School, and served on the school boards of Milford and Nevada. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada and the Farm Bureau. They moved to Story City in July.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Edith of Story City; a son, Ronald Rasmusson of Glendale, Arizona; three daughters, Janet Larson (Dennis) of Laurens, Iowa, Marcia Neighbour (Walter) of Ankeny, and Beth McKim (Curtis) of Slater; 8 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
