Services Held for Anna Swandahl

Mrs. Anna Swandahl for many years a resident of the Slater community, passed away at the Sunset home in Story City last Frida. She was past 98 years of age. Mrs. Swandahl and her late husband lived for many years on the farm now owned by J. C. Ersland. Later they moved to Slater and she had made her home here until going to the Sunset home a number of years ago.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Riis Funeral home at 1:30 and at the Bethlehem church at 2 o'clock. Rev. P. E. Onstad was in charge of both services and preached on the theme "Heaven is My Home."

Nilus Ihle sang "Under His Wings" and Pastor Onstad sang "I'm a Pilgrim."

Pallbearers were J. C. Ersland, Edward Tweedt, George Christianson, A. L. Peterson, Ole Houge and Oscar Fritz.

Burial was in the Bethlehem cemetery.

Obituary.

Anna Michaelson Swandahl was born in Haugesund, Norway, Feb. 4, 1854, and passed away at the Sunset home in Story City on Friday, Mar. 28, at the age of 98 years, 1 month and 24 days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Norway.

In 1880 she came to America and settled in Story county.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Swandahl, also her parents and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by two step-sons; a sister, Mrs. Marie Ersland of near Hardy; two nephews, and eight nieces.
