HUXLEY CITIZEN IS CALLED BY DEATH

Mr. Rasmus Egenes Passed Away Last Saturday Morning--Funeral Monday Afternoon

Mr. Rasmus Egenes, highly respected Huxley citizen, passed away last Saturday morning, the victim of a stroke of paralysis, which had confined him to his home and bed since that time, he had gradually failed till last Saturday morning, when the end came. Funeral services were held from the home and the Lincoln church on Monday afternoon, the services being in charge of his pastor, Rev. Duea. Burial was made in the Palestine cemetery. A large crowd was in attendance at the last sad rites.

Deceased was born February 17, 1856, at Wee, in Etne, Norway. He came to America in 1885 and was married to Miss Marie Wilson on November 6, 1887. The union was blessed with three children, two boys and a girl. The boys died in infancy. The daughter survives him, as does also his wife and a sister, who resides in Norway. He had made Huxley and vicinity his home from the time he landed in this country.

Mr. Egenes stood high in the esteem of his neighbors and friends. He was a member of the Lincoln congregation and took an active part in the work of his church and had been honored by being elected to a position on the board of deacons, of which he was a member a the time of his death. Rev. Duea, who administered to his spiritual needs, paid a glowing tribute to his memory at the obsequies on Monday.
