Obituary of Mrs. Egenes

Marie Wilson Egenes was born at Etne, Norway, August 23, 1854, and died January 26, 1934, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theoline Severson, near Clear Lake, Iowa, at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 3 days.

She came to America in 1874 and before her marriage made her home with Mr. and Mrs. K. A. Bauge of west of Cambridge. On in marriage to Rasmus Egenes. They made their home in and near Huxley until he died in August 1929. Since then she has been living with her daughter and two sons. The boys died in infancy, leaving the daughter, now Mrs. Theoline Severson, to mourn her death. She is also mourned by two grandsons and a son-in-law, Sam Severson, and a nephew, Tom Egenes, to whom she took the place of a mother. She is also mourned by a host of other relatives.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, January 29th, from the Palestine church, with Rev. Buland in charge. Music was furnished by the choir. There was also a solo by Helen Thompson of Rolfe, Iowa, and a duet by Mrs. R. A. Elliott and Helen Thompson.
