MRS. OSVOG IS LAID TO REST

She Passed Away Early Monday Morning at an Age of 77 Years. Is Mourned by 5 Children.

Mrs. Osvog passed away early Monday morning after lingering illness. She had been sick for some time and seriously ill for a week previous and final summons on Monday morning did not come unexpected. Funeral was held yesterday from the church where she had worshipped since making Slater her home, the obsequies being attended by relatives and a host of friends.

Deceased was a native of Norway, being born at Skjold in January 1832. She grew to womanhood in the community of her birth where she made the acquaintance of and married Erick Osvog at an age of twenty. After a few years they crossed the Atlantic to make America their home and settled down in Henry county in 1857.

After a few years residence there they moved to New Sharon where they resided for several years, moving at the close of the war to Story county. They made their home for a brief time on a farm northeast of town which they later sold, moving onto a farm near Sheldahl. While residing near Sheldahl her husband died in ---1. She moved to Slater ----- years ago and has made this place her home till death called her away Monday morning.

Deceased was the mother of twenty children. Of these, five are left to mourn her loss. They are Mrs. Ed. Erickson of Slayton, Minn., Mrs. H. S. Croyle of Langley, Wash., Mrs. Fred Baker of Florence, Wash., and E. E. Osvog of Canton, S. D. Besides the five children she is also mourned by three brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Osvog was a kind and considerate mother and a good neighbor. She was an ardent church worker and died a firm believer in the Lowly Nazarene whom she had learned to love while a little girl in the far off land of Norway.

The funeral yesterday was conducted by Rev. Estvold who delivered a splendid tribute to her memory. All the children were present at the last sad rites with the exception of the daughters residing in Washington.
