DEATH CLAIMS AGED CITIZEN

Nels Johnson dies after a very lengthy illness. Reached an advance age. Funeral Sat.

Nels Johnson Krak, the aged citizen who had been in feeble health for many years and very low the past month, died early Friday morning. Death had been expected for a week or more and came as a relief to the watchers as well as the aged sufferer. Funeral was held from the Lincoln church Saturday afternoon and was attended by many relatives and friends of the deceased. In the absence of Rev Wee in Minnesota Rev. Paulsrud had charge of the services and delivered a forceful sermon to the assembled congregation.

Deceased reached an age of 84 years. Born in Norway he came to America in 1866 and settled down in Iowa where he made his home till death called him. He was married three times and was the father of 4 children, of these 3 are living. They are Mrs. K. B. Thompson of Slater, Mrs. Wagley of Minnesota and A. Thompson [should be A. Johnson referring ton Andrew Krak Johnson] north of Huxley.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: According to his death record, Nels Johnson was the son of John Johnson and Martha Nesheim. Genealogical sites give his parents as Johannes Johanesen Krak and Marta Larsdatter.

The three children mentioned as survivors are Bertha (Johnson) Thompson wife of Knudt B. Thompson, Anna (Johnson) Wagley wife of Gunder Wagley, and Andrew Krak Johnson. Their mother was Ragnald Thorsdall/Tordahl (presumably the first wife of Nels Johnson Krak.}
