OBITUARY.

The funeral of Mrs. Eveline Kenison Frise took place on Friday, October 8, at 2 o'clock p. m. in the Congregational church at Garden Prairie, Rev. B. C. Tillett preached the funeral sermon from 2d Tim. 4:7-8. A large number of friends and relatives gathered to pay their respects and sympathize with her beloved husband and children. Interment took place in the cemetery north of Madrid.

Mrs. Frise was born at Peacham, Vermont, September 20, 1841 and died October 7, 1897 being 56 years and 17 days old. With her parents she came to Illinois in 1854 and was married to Mr. John S. Frise in Joliet, Illinois on December 4, 1859. Mr. and Mrs. Frise with their children moved to their home in Boone county, Iowa in the fall of 1874. The fruit of this marriage was twelve children of whom five were boys and seven girls. Among this number death has come to Willie H., Ida Orvilla, Minnie May, and Roy A. She was converted and united with Congregational church at Garden Prairie in 1889. Her faith in Christ and his religion has been constant, manifesting to the last a patience and trustfullness that comes only through faith in God. The husband loses a true and faithful companion; the children a loving and devoted mother; the church and community a true and faithful follower of Christ. But our loss is her gain, to depart and be with Christ is far better.
