OBITUARY.
The following article, taken from the LeGrand paper, tells of the obituary of Mrs. Isabelle Thompson, who recently passed away at Nevada. She was the sister of Severin and T. O. Heggem of this place.
News of the death of Mrs. Isabelle Thompson at Nevada at 6 o'clock Wednesday evening reached LeGrand relatives and friends soon after it occurred. She had been taken to Nevada on Sunday and underwent an operation for gall stones at the sanitarium there, but the shock proved too much of her, heart failure being the immediate cause of her death.
Mrs. Thompson was 56 years of age, being born May 25, 1865, near Huxley, Iowa. Her maiden name was Isabelle Heggem. She was married to Nels Thompson at Nevada on September 5, 1882, and began married life on a farm in the Stavanger neighborhood three miles south of LeGrand. They were the parents of nine children, as follows: Mrs. M. T. Tostenson, Herman N. and Kernal E., Edna, Thelma and Vernan Thompson, and Mrs. Nora E. Dunham, all of LeGrand; Mrs Bernard Russell, of Fairfax. One son, Theodore, died in childhood. Mr. Thompson died September 22, 1915.
Four brothers and two sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Malinda A. Thompson, LeGrand; T. O. and Severn Heggem, Slater; O. E. Heggem, Minneapolis; Mrs. A. J. Anfinson, Nevada, and Peter Heggem, Longmont, Colo.
The funeral will be held from the Stavanger Friends church at 2 o'clock Saturday.
