Funeral Services Are Held At Ryans For Chas. Spurling

Charles D. Spurling was born near Peoria, Ill. June 12, 1871 the son of Jack and Mary Spurling. He had lived in Story County for 55 years and had farmed for number of years. He died March 19, 1961. He was married to Miss Ora Mitchell in 1894.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Don D. Hudson, Lynwood, Wash., Mrs. Mae Williams, Fremont, Neb., Mrs. Bernard Harms, Mead, Neb., Mrs. Bertha Pence, Lynwood, Wash., and one son, Ray C. Spurling of Cedar Falls, Iowa; also six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren survive.

Services

Funeral services were held at the Ryan Funeral Home for Charles D. Spurling Wednesday, March 22, 1961 at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. James Dendler officiating.

Mrs. Arlene Huhn, organist, played a number of selections before and after the service.

The casket bearers were Charles Banks, Harold Earwicker, Walter Gull, Jim Kalsem, Clarence Mehlow and William Rahfeldt.

Burial was in the Zearing cemetery.
