Death of Mrs. Spurling.
Ora May Spurling, wife of C. D. Spurling of northeast of this city, near Zearing, died at her home on Wednesday, June 12, and her remains were interred in the cemetery at Zearing after services in the Christian church of that place Friday. Rev. Wolf conducted the service.
Ora May Mitchell was born in Illinois June 25, 1876. At the age of eight she moved with her parents to Iowa. She was married to C. D. Spurling in 1894 and to this union five children have been born. The children are Nellie aged 11 years, May 9, Hattie 7, Ray 5, and Bertha 2. Besides the husband and children she leaves to mourn her loss her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell of Fremont, Neb., a sister, Lyda, of Lincoln, Neb., a brother Bert of Clemons, sister Martha of Redfield, S. D., and Nellie and William of Fremont.
The mother, brother Bert and sisters Lyda and Martha were present at the funeral. The family receive the sympathy of all in their hour of sad bereavement. The death is a sad one indeed, calling a mother from the care of her five little ones and leaving a father without a companion to look after them.
