Services for Long-Time Collins Businessman, E.E.Jones, Monday.

Eli Edward Jones was born at Collins, Iowa on May 9, 1879, the son of James Madison and Lucinda Jones, and passed away Friday February 5, 1960 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wilden Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 80 years 8 months and 27 days. He had been in failing health following a heart attack Sept. 9, 1959.

In March 1899 he was united in marriage with Nina Pearl Evans who preceeded him in death, December 27, 1902. To this union two sons were born, Clarence E. Jones of Merced, California and C. Cecil Jones of San Jose, California.

On December 31, 1905, he was united in marriage with Rhoda Cooper. To this union one daughter, Velma Boozell of Collins and one son Edwin A. Jones were born. His son preceeded him in death February 27, 1932.

He was married to Ann Crabb April 1, 1928.

He spent his entire life in and around the Collins area, mostly in the grocery business and later years in the insurance business.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Ann, his children, Clarence and Cecil Jones both of California, Mrs. Velma Boozell of Collins, one sister, Mrs. Flora Luing of Canby, Minnesota, three nieces, six grandchildren and twelve great-grand children.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 8, at the Collins Christian Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert McDonald officiating.

Casket bearers were Richard Holland, Bill Barrett, William Huntrods, Harold Hale, P.J. Wetrich and C. R.Stone.

Flowers cared for by Mercie Wear and Marie Morrison. Music was furnished by Virginia Fertig at the organ who accompanied Mary Tomlinson, soloist.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Collins, Iowa.

Those of immediate famiy attending from a distance were a son, Cecil Jones, from San Jose, California, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Halterman and Mr. and Mrs Jerry Burke, of Peroria, Ill.
