Death of Benjamin Humphrey.

Benjamin Humphrey, father of C. V. and H. B. Humphrey of the Nevada Watchman, died at his home in Des Moines Monday. The deceased was sixty-four years of age and a veteran of four years service in the rebellion, being a member of Co. C. of the 63d Ohio Volunteer infantry. He was born in Athens county, Ohio, October 2, 1842 and died July 2, 1906. He leaves a wife, one daughter and four sons. The surviving daughter is Mrs. S. M. Donovan and the sons are F. W. and C. E. Humphrey of Des Moines and C. V. and H. B. of this city. The two sons left Wednesday for Des Moines to be present at the funeral which occurred yesterday after which the remains were taken to Newton for burial in the family burial ground. Nevada friends of the Messrs. Humphreys extend a sympathizing hand to them in their hour of bereavement.
