MINEAR, ALICE HATFIELD (MRS. GLENN MINEAR) (1898-1951)

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, July 5, 1951, page 1, columns 4 & 5. “LIFE SKETCH OF MRS. MINEAR. Alice, the youngest daughter of Albert and Addie Hatfield, was born June 9th, 1898 at Boone, Iowa. After an illness of several months, she passed on to her Heavenly Rewards, at her home on June 25th, 1951, at the age of 53 years and 14 days. Alice lived in Boone most of her life and spent her educational days in the Boone Schools. She was a member of the Maxwell Methodist Church and was ever a faithful and devoted worker in the activities of that religious body. In March 1917 she was united in marriage t Glenn Minear of Maxwell, Iowa. To this very happy union were born three children. An infant daughter who died at birth; two sons, Max of Anchorage, Alaska and Barry of Iowa City, Iowa. Those left to mourn her parting are her husband, Glenn Minear; her two sons, Max and Barry; six sisters: Mrs. Mable Harper of Prescott, Arizona; Mrs. Nellie Orr of Boone, Iowa; Mrs. Minnie Bye of Bellingham, Wash.; Mrs. Esther Groomes of Boone, Iowa; Mrs. Emma Quanz of Watonga, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Ruth Plummer of Muskegon, Michigan. One brother, Henry Hatfield of Boone, Iowa; also five grandchildren, many many friends and a host of neighbors. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 27, at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church with Rev. Oren B. Hall in charge. Jean Mohler sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “O Love that Wilt Not Let Me Go”, accompanied at the piano by Ina Larsen. Casket bearers were Bayard Sesker, Earnie Glasgow, Harlan Rock, Earnest Wood, Hubert Larsen and Albert Green. Hazel Harmon and Leta Link had charge of the flowers. Interment was in Maxwell cemetery.”
