DOLPH, HANNAH OYLER (MRS. WILLIAM GLEN DOLPH) (1882-1951)

“MRS. HANNAH DOLPH DEPARTED LIFE LAST THURSDAY. Hannah, oldest daughter of Joh and Nancy Oyler, was born in Jasper county, Iowa, January 1, 1882. After an illness of several months she passed on to her heavenly rewards, at the Story County hospital in Nevada, October 18, 1951, at the age of 69 years, 9 months, and 17 days. In her early childhood, her parents moved to Story county, where she lived her entire life, with the exception of a few years at Grand Junction, Iowa. Maxwell has been her home for the last twenty-five years. May 24, 1909, she was married to Wm. Glen Dolph, who preceded her in death July 7, 1925. Her parents, her sister Cora, and two brothers, Tlighman and Cliff, have also passed on. She leaves to mourn her departure, four sisters: Mrs. Florence Claybergh of Story City; Mrs. Lou Schurtz of Des Moines; Mrs. Jessie Robertson and Mrs. Marie White of Maxwell; two brothers, James Oyler of Pasadena, Californiam and John Oyler of Maxwell, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Hannah was a member of Maxwell Christian Church, and a faithful worker in the activities of that religious body; also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and Jeptha Rebekah Lodge. She was always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need. Funeral services were at Maxwell Christian Church, Saturday afternoon at two o’clock with Rev. Ira E. Carney in charge. Music was by a quartet composed of Mrs. Verle Myers, Mrs. J. B. Scott, Mr. Arnold Scott, and Mr. Dorus Myers, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Ned Pearson. Selections were “Old Ruged Cross: and “Good Night and Good Morning.” Casket bearers were Ralph Thompson, Arthur Porter, Virgil Law, W. E. Van Hook, Irving and Robert Kirk. Burial was in Collins cemetery.”
