John W. Fair, for many years a resident of the county near Maxwell, died in the soldiers' home at Marshalltown March 18, 1920. He was a New York veteran of the Civil war and rendered good service in saving the nation. He leaves numerous family relatives and friends to regret his demise. He was a little over seventy-three years of age.
