DEATHS

John L. Ness

Funeral services for John H. Ness were held on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. at the Palestine Lutheran Church with Pastor Ernest T. Thompson officiating.

Mrs. Noel Larson was organist and accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Selmer Westvold. The congregation sang "Abide With Me."

Pallbearers were Ole Hauge, Noel Larson, S.B. Sheldahl, Lawrence Larson, Omar Brendeland and Osmund Larson.

Interment was in the Palestine Cemetery.

John H. Ness was born in Story County, Iowa on July 28. 1893 to Henry and Serena Ness. He grew up and lived in the Husley and Slater community where he was a farmer all of his life except for the time he served in World War I.

He was a member of Palestine Lutheran Church.

Ness died as the result of a two car accident on Highway 210 one mile east of Slater on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 18, 1969.

Surviving are one brother, Seward of Huxley; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Sheldahl of Slater and Miss Bertha Ness of Huxley.

He was preceded in death by his parent and one brother, Arnold Ness.
