Funeral Services Held at Collins for Mrs. Todhunter

Special to the Journal.
Collins, May 23--Funeral services for Mrs. C. L. Todhunter, 85, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Campbell, here Thursday, were held at the Collins Church of Christ Sunday afternoon with Rev. C. E. Lookingbill of Nevada in charge.

Lydia Jane James, daughter of Henry and Roxy James, was born October 6, 1852, at Palmyra, Iowa and departed this life May 19, 1938 at the age of 85 years, seven months and 13 days at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Campbell.

On October 27, 1870, she was united in marriage to Charles Lewis Todhunter, who preceded her in death in 1928. To this union six children were born: Mary, who died in infancy, Mrs. Lydia Campbell of Collins, Henry of Wellington, Kansas, Mrs. Alta Ryan of Albion, Pa., Mrs. Clara Briggs of Castle Rock, Washington; and Stephen of Denver, Colorado.

As a young girl she united with the Methodist church at Palmyra, Iowa, and has lived her life in that faith. She moved with her family to Collins in 1893 from Palmyra and has lived her most of the time since.

She lost her eyesight and hearing about 35 years ago and has been in poor health for the past five years. She has borne these afflictions with great patience and courage and passed away last Thursday morning about 5 o'clock.

Besides her children, she leaves to mourn her passing 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers, George James of California; Millard James of Alabama; John James of Colorado and a host of friends.
