Funeral services for Mrs. Andrew Iverson, who passed away on September 27, 1951, were held Monday at the Palestine Lutheran church. At a short prayer service at the home, Rev. H. Stoutland led in scripture reading and prayer. Miss Nancy Jean Sheldahl sang the hymn "No Night There." The services at Palestine Lutheran church followed. Rev. H. Stoutland and Rev. Peder Buland spoke words of comfort to the family and friends.
A memorial tribute from Rev. K. C. Grundahl of Outlook, Sask., Canada was read by Rev. Stoutland. Miss Nancy Jean Sheldahl sang "Going Home," and Mrs. Selmer Westvold sand "Den Store Hvide Flok." Several gifts of money for missions and other benevolences were received in memory of Mrs. Iverson. Burial was in the Palestine cemetery.
Pallbearers were Alfred Lande, Henry Iverson, Joe Iverson, Ben Iverson, Osmond Sheldahl and Ole Hauge.
Among those from a distance who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rice from Sioux Center, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Walfred Peterson from Canton, So. Dak., Mrs. Fred Roe, Mrs. Art McKee and Mr. Harold McNamara of Hazel, So. Dak. and Miss Odele Gronning of Minneapolis, Minn., together with relatives and friends from Webster City, Jewell, Williams, Ellsworth, Story City, Ames and Des Moines.
Anna Gronning Iverson was born January 27, 1871 of parents Jens and Martha Gronning. She was baptized and confirmed by Pastor A. G. Stub in Strandebarms church, Hardanger, Norway. She passed away September 27, 1951 in Huxley, Iowa at the age of 80 years and eight months.
In 1888 she came to this country from Norway and lived for a while in Des Moines, Iowa.
April 4, 1907 she was married to Andrew Iverson. To this union were born two children, Bessie and Margaret. Bessie passed away in 1938.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband; one daughter, Margaret of Huxley; two grandchildren, Gorden and Allen Grundahl of Outlook, Saskatchewan, Canada; one brother, John Gronning of Minneapolis, Minnesota, besides other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Iverson was a member of Palestine Lutheran church. She was honored by the Ladies Aid with a Life Membership in the Women's Missionary Federation of the Evangelical Lutheran church.
