OBITUARIES

Grace Maxine Blackburn
July 23, 1917, to June 29, 2003

Grace Maxine Blackburn, 85, of Chariton, formerly of Ankeny and Ames, died Sunday, June 29, at the Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center where she had been a resident since March 21.

She was born July 23, 1917, in Montevideo, Minn., to Arthur and Emma (Conley) Conley. She was employed at Sears and Montgomery Wards, owned a fishing lodge in Canada and a flooring and window treatment store in Ankeny. Grace enjoyed gardening, canning, Baking, fishing, traveling and visiting with friends.

Survivors include two sons, Gary F. Dykstra of Derby and David Blackburn of Largo, Fla., and a niece, Farris Dearborn of Nevada.

Graveside services were held today, Thursday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. The family received friends prior to the service at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.
