Funeral Services Held Sunday for State Center Farmer

State Center, April 4--W. F. Miller, a well known farmer one mile south of State Center, died at his home at 11:30 Thursday night following a heart attack which had troubled him for some time.

William Frederick Miller, 72, was born July 22, 1865, at Platteville, Ill., the son of Henry A. and Katherine Kae Miller. In the fall of 1869 at the age of four years he came with his parents to State Center and settled on the farm which since had been his home.

He attended the public schools in State Center and was confirmed from the parochial school of St. John's Lutheran church.

He was married March 29, 1907, to Miss Olga Nauke in Marshalltown, and the couple celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary last Tuesday.

Mr. Miller was a member of the Presbyterian church and also of Eagle Camp, No. 2524, Modern Woodmen of America.

He is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Vernon Schaper of State Center and Miss Viola Miller of Garner. He also leaves one grandson, Norris Schaper. One daughter and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the home and at 2:30 at the Presbyterian church, with Rev. James D. Ransom in charge, and burial in Hillside cemetery.
