Funeral Services Held at Colo for Mrs. Mary Scott

Special to the Journal:
Colo, Dec. 17--Funeral rites were held at Calvary Evangelical church here Wednesday for Mrs. Mary F. Scott, 76, widow of the late Charles W. Scott, who died at her home here December 11.

The pastor Rev. E. C. Boom was in charge and the singing was by a ladies quartette consisting of Mesdames Danskin, Lounsberry, Yeager and Dickinson, with Mrs. Robison at the piano.

The pallbearers were Roy Shepard, Walter C. Mains, Roy Greiner, Harry Ranson, Chas. W. Yeager and Ross E. White.

The church was well filled with relatives and old neighbors and close friends and the floral tribute was very beautiful.

The following brief sketch of her life was read by the pastor during the service:

"Mrs. Mary Fosha Scott was born near Adeline, Ill., May 17, 1862 and passed to her eternal reward Dec. 11, 1938 at 9:30 a. m. at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 24 days.

"When she was just a young girl she moved with her parents to Jasper County, Iowa. In the year 1881 she was united in marriage to Charles W. Scott and to this union three children were born: Mrs. Jessie Brouhard and Mrs. Lillie Schuler of Colo and Raymond L. Scott of Columbus, Ohio.

"Mrs. Scott was of that sturdy nature and stock which evidenced itself to the very last. She was a loyal member of Calvary Evangelical church, loved and respected by all. Her quiet yet happy disposition will live on in the memories of those who have known her.

"Peacefully, quietly and apparently without struggle her soul passed from time into eternity."
