Clayton D. Stone Funeral Services Held In Roland

Clayton DeLoss Stone, Roland, died Friday, Nov. 2, 1962, 11:00 p. m. at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, where he had been a patient since Aug. 6, 1962.

He was born at Zearing, Iowa, Sept. 28, 1917. He graduated from the Maxwell High School in 1937. He spent his entire life in Story County, except for four years, from May 1941 to July 1945, when he served in the armed forces.

He was united in marriage to Lois Sevde on Jan. 26, 1946. To this union five children were born: three sons, Dennis 16, Steve 14, Larry 11; two daughters: Debra 7, and Susan 4, all at home. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Orville (Mienard) Hagen of Roland and one brother, Derryl Stone of Ames. Also several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Stone was a member of the Bergen Lutheran Church and the American Legion of Roland.

He was employed by Montgomery Ward in Ames.

Stone was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Stone, two sisters, Mrs. Sanford (Bernadine) Olson and Genevieve Stone.

Funeral Services

Funeral services were held Nov. 6, 1962, 2 p. m. at the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland, with Rev. Howard Lybeck officiating.

Two songs were sung by Orris Osheim. They were: "Under His Wing" and "Beautiful Savior." Mrs. Otto Hanson accompanied him at the organ.

Pallbearers were: Wendell Halterman, Otto Twedt, Richard Christian, Willard Vaughan, Noel Thompson and Orvis Anderson.
