Mrs. Theo. Carpenter, nonogenarian, died
Mrs. Theodore (Julia) Carpenter, 92, died Friday at 3 p.m. in the Sunset Home in Story City, where she had been a resident the past two years.
Funeral services were held on Monday at 1:30 in the Sunset Home Chapel, and at 2 p.m. in Elim Lutheran Church at Randall, the Rev. Quentin Quanbeck officiating. Burial was in the Roland cemetery.
Mrs. Carpenter was born in Norway. After her marriage, she lived 14 years in Roland, moving to a farm southeast of Randall where the family lived until 1944 when they retired and moved to Randall.
Surviving are four sons, Arthur and Gaylord, both of Story City, Jeffrey of Randall, Willie of West Des Moines; three daughters, Mrs. M. H. (Luttie) Henryson of Story City, Mrs. Arthur (Ruth) Olson of Van Nuys, Calif., and Mrs. Herbert (Icel) Johnson of Tacoma, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by her husband in 1947.
