Joseph Ritland Funeral Services Held At Radcliffe
Joseph Ritland, son of Osa and the late Olaus Ritland, was born Aug. 13, 1895 on a farm south of Radcliffe and died June 19, 1962 at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 16 days. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.
Joseph spent most of his life in the Radcliffe community where he was engaged in farming. Upon retiring he spent several years in Story City and later moved to the farm, where he lived at the time of his death.
Preceding him in death were his father, one sister, Ethel and one brother, Ernest.
Surviving are his mother of Story City, three brothers, Oscar of Hubbard, Howard and Lester of Radcliffe; four sisters, Pearl of Story City, Mrs. Ed (Ida) Sime and Mrs. Arley (Genevieve) Coburn of Radcliffe and Mrs. Elmer (Hazel) Hoelscher of Hubbard; also other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services
Funeral services for Joseph Ritland were held Tuesday, July 3, 1962 at 2 p. m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, south of Radcliffe; with the Rev. Perry Heller, officiating. Chester Pearson, soloist, sang "Come Ye Disconsolate" and "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" accompanied by Mrs. Truman Nelson, organist.
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: Floyd Ritland, Irvin Ritland, Earl Sime, Leland Coburn, Bruce Coburn, Curtis Ritland.
Interment was in the Zion cemetery.
