Orville Brekke Funeral Service Held In Union

Funeral services for Orville Brekke, who died Tuesday, May 1 following a car accident on Monday, April 30, were held Friday, May 4 at the Union Community Church with the Rev. Lloyd McDonald officiating. Prayer services were held at the home Friday morning with a brother-in-law, the Rev. Virgil Shickell in charge.

Life Sketch

Orville Brekke, the son of Jacob and Celia Brekke was born February 16, 1912 near McCallsburg and died Tuesday, May 1 at the age of 50 years, two months and 15 days.

He was united in marriage to Miss Pearl Henderson at Zearing on August 13, 1934. To this union 13 children were born: Mrs. Donald (Joan) Luing of Nevada; Robert of Alden, Richard and Ronald, both in the U.S. Army and Jerold, Orville Jr., Joel, Joyce, Dennis, Janice, Daniel and Jack all at home.

Brekke had been engaged in farming in Hardin County most of his life. He also has driven a Union-Whitten School bus the past school term.

Survivors are his widow, 12 children, five grandchildren, parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Brekke was precede in death by an infant son, Orlan Paul.
