Father Dies In Nevada Hospital

William C. Martin, 73, Ames, died at 7:55 a. m. at the Story County Hospital in Nevada where he was taken Tuesday. He had been ill eight weeks.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p. m. at the Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Rev. John G. Davies will officiate. Burial will be in the Story Co. Memorial Gardens at Ames. There will be Masonic graveside services.

Survivors are the wife, Helen; two sons, Richard, Altoona, William C. Jr., Nevada; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Logsdon, Guthrie Center and Mrs. Dorothy Jean (Charles) Ray of Nevada; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Maggie Thompson of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.

The deceased was born in Glasgow, Scotland, Dec. 15, 1888. He came to the United States in 1909. He had been a resident of Ames for 43 years. He retired from the Iowa State Highway Commission in 1959.

He attended the Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
