Heart Attack Is Fatal for Collins' Resident Ord Smith

Ord R. Smith, 56, of Collins died suddenly Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at his home of a heart attack.

Smith was born February 19, 1906 to Seth and Mary Smith at Atkinson, Nebr. He was a resident of the Collins community for 30 yeas. He was a paint contractor.

On August 5, 1932, in Bethany, Missouri Smith was united in marriage to Charlotte Halterman.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; two sons, Larry of Council Bluffs and Norlyn of St. Paul, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Claretta) Theilen of Fayetteville, Arkansas; also one grandson; six brothers, Vance of Mountain Home, Ark., Walker of Collins, Paul of Maxwell, Seth of Licking, Mo., Hassel of Marshalltown and Linton of Olympia, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Eli Lathrom of Licking, Mo., Mrs. Lyle Gray of Rhodes and Mrs. William Carlson of Marshalltown.

Smith was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held from the Collins Christian Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery. The body will remain at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning when it will be taken to the church to await funeral services.

A Memorial Fund is being established.
