Mrs. Myrtle Wright Funeral Services Are Held Thursday

Viola Myrtle was born March 31, 1880 t Anchor, Ill., the daughter of Robert and Sarah Center, and died Feb. 27, 1962 at the Story County Hospital, Nevada, Iowa, at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 26 days.

During the early years of her life she lived in Illinois, where she attended public school and at the age of about 17 years, she with her family, moved to Nevada.

During her youth, she made her confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Chris and by baptism became a charter member of the newly organized Christian Church of Nevada. She always enjoyed the fellowship of the church and its many activities.

Jan. 23, 1900, Viola Myrtle was united in marriage to Charles Wright.

They made their home in Nevada and Story County, Iowa, where her husband farmed and worked for the railroad. She was a devoted wife and mother to those of her family, which consisted of four sons, Howard, Homer, Hiram and Glen, also three daughters, Nellie, Elaine, Alma and one child that died in infancy.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband and one infant child. Also two brothers, James and Lan, three sisters, Marcia, Jane and Amenda.

Mrs. Myrtle Wright leaves in her passing her seven children and their families, Howard, Homer and Hiram of Nevada, Ia.; Glen of Fairview, Mass., Mrs. George (Nellie) Horner of Jewell, Iowa, Mrs. Harry Angle (Elaine) of Nevada, Iowa, and Mrs. Harold (Alma) Sills of Ames, Iowa. Also one sister, Mrs. Henry (Etta) Huhn of Sioux Falls, S. C. Eleven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services

Funeral services for Mrs. Wright were conducted at the Nevada Christian Church, Tuesday, March 1, 1962 at 1:30 p. m. with the Rev. W. R. Tuttle officiating.

Miss Virginia Bierschwal, organist, accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Mary Pevestorf, as she sang, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Ivory Palace."

Casket bearers were Harry Cook, Marlie Lobaugh, Guy Selby, Ray Taylor, Joe VanSickle Jr. and Galyn Wilson.

Interment was in the Nevada cemetery.
