Clarence F. Vogt Funeral Services Are Held Recently

Clarence F. Vogt, of Eldora, the son of Benjamin and Ellen Vogt, was born Jan. 24, 1897 at Peoria, Ill.

He was married to Libbie Yocum, in Nevada, Dec. 24, 1924. To this union one child was born, a son, LeRoy, of Cedar Rapids.

During World War I, he enlisted in the army on July 25, 1918, and was discharged March 12, 1919.

Vogt was hospitalized in Eldora Jan. 29, of this year, and died Feb. 23, after surgery. He was 65 years and 29 days old at the time of his death. He had lived in Nevada for several years, before moving to Eldora.

Survivors include his wife, Libby, his son, LeRoy, two sisters, Mrs. Della Womack of Elma, Ia. and Mrs. Martha Shearer of Ames; two brothers, Bert of Nevada, and James of Ames, a daughter-in-law, Betty Vogt, and two grandsons, Steven and Gary Vogt. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral Services

Funeral services for Clarence F. Vogt were held Monday, Feb. 26, 1962 at the Ryan Funeral Home at 1:30 p. m., with the Rev. Victor Hackbarth officiating.

Mrs. Florence Rapp soloist, sang two songs, "Go Be With You Till We Meet Again" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye." She was accompanied by Mrs. Norman Dobson, organist.

Military services at the grave were in charge of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts of Nevada.

Casket bearers were William Ball, Robert Bishop, Leo Griffieon, Jack Johnson, Roy Rosenberg and C. C. Stark.

Burial was in the Woodland cemetery at Iowa Center.
