Ole M. Jacobson Funeral Services Held In Roland
Prayer services for Ole Martin Jacobson were held Thursday, January 4, 1962 at the Erickson Funeral Home in Rolnd with the Rev. H. M. Lybeck officiating.
Orris Osheim sang "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" and "My Jesus, As Thou Wilt." Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Hardin County, with the Rev. Perry Heller officiating. Organ music was furnished by Mrs. Truman Nelson Soloist. Cecil Tesdahl sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Nearer My God, to Thee."
Pallbearers were nephews, Archie Jacobson, Virgil Jacobson, LaVerne Jacobson, John Jacobson, Orlin Holland and John Holland.
Interment was in the Zion Lutheran Church cemetery, Hardin county.
Life Sketch
Ole Martin Jacobson, son of John and Louise Jacobson, was born near Washburn, N. D., May 22, 1885 and died at the Story City Memorial Hospital January 1, 1962 after a lingering illness of nearly three years.
Ole was baptized into the Lutheran faith in North Dakota and confirmed at the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland in 1899 by the Rev. O. P. Vangness. He spent his entire life in the Radcliffe and Roland communities where he was engaged in farming. In 1947 he retired from farming and moved to Garden City where he lived for three and a half years, after which he returned to Roland.
In June 1914, he married Victoria Swenson, who died in 1924.
In March, 1932, he married Johanna Ose, who now survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Violette) Morgan, Roland, Mrs. Al (Maxine) Hughes, New Orleans, La., Mrs. Chet (Gertrude) Ryan and Mrs. Marvin (Opal) Tjernagel, both of Nevada, Lester Ose, Eldora and Mrs. Reuben (June) Erickson of Roland; 19 grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Millie Holland and one brother, Arthur, both of Roland.
He was preceded in death by infant twins and a daughter, Mrs. John L. (Lucille) Christian, his parents, a sister, Nettie, three brothers, Elmer, Oscar and Sanford and three infant sisters.
