Funeral Services For Mrs. Jacobson Held In Story City

Funeral services for Mrs. Theodore B. Jacobson was held in the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City on Thursday afternoon, December 28 at 2 p.m. Pastor George Strum officiated.

The congregation sang the hymn "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear." Mrs. Robert Lekwa sang "In the Garden" and (in Norwegian) "Den Store Hvide Flok." Mrs. Alfred Jacobson was organist.

Pall bearers were nephews: Earl Askelson, Emery Tegland, LeRoy Tegland, Jonas Jacobson, Lawrence Jacobson and Donald Munsen. Interment was made in the Story City municipal cemetery.

Life Sketch

Agnes Ersland, daughter of Thomas and Anna Ersland, was born on a farm northwest of Story City on June 20, 1896. She was baptized and confirmed in Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City. She graduated from the Story City High School and following he graduation she taught school.

On April 20, 1916 she was united in marriage to Theodore B. Jacobson by the late Rev. G. O. Paulsrude. A son, Joel and daughter, Maxine were born to this marriage.

Mrs. Jacobson died at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on Christmas Day.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore; a son, Joel of Story City and a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Maxine) Dodds of Ames; four grandchildren and a half brother, Elvin J. Engebritson of Des Moines.
