Rites Held Here For Lulu Jane Stratton

Lulu Jane Stratton died Monday, Jan, 25, 1960 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McKim, 615 Ninth street, where she had made her home the past year. She was 84 years of age.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 10:30 o'clock with the Rev. James D. Dendler officiating. Burial was in the Woodland cemetery at Iowa Center.

Daughter of William and Susannah Smith, she was born at Iowa Center Jan. 2, 1876. She was married to William F. Stratton on April 13, 1893 at Iowa Center. To this union four children were born.

Surviving are the three daughters: Mrs. Harvey Jensen, Mrs. Leslie McBride and Mrs. Frank McKim, all of Nevada and one son, Eldon F. Stratton of Maxwell; also 11 grandchildren, a number of great grand children, and one great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, on Oct. 4, 1956. Also by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Many beautiful flowers and memorials were given in her memory. Mrs. Norman Dobson was at the organ playing her favorite hymns.

The casket bearers were grandsons, Richard and Robert McKim, Harvey Jensen, Ollie Worth, Paul Stratton and Robert Foster.

Mrs. Stratton was always willing to lend a helping hand. She had attended church and Sunday school as long as she was able to go.
