DEATHS

Funeral services for Hannah Karina Olson were held in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City at two o'clock, on Thursday afternoon, June 1, with Pastor Harold Masted officiating. Mrs. Robert Hermanson sang, "The King of Love My Shepherd Is" and "Hark, Hark, My Soul," accompanied by Miss Louise Olson, organist. Pall bearers were Lloyd Halverson, Arnold Cole, Milford Amenson, Orville Twedt, Arnold Erickson and Elmer Amenson. Burial was in the cemetery at Roland.

Hannah Karina Olson, youngest daughter of the late Ludvig and Kari Olson, was born February 14, 1890, three miles north of Roland. She was baptized by the Rev. C. C. Holter and confirmed by Rev. J. N. Sandven of Salem Lutheran Church, Roland.

She attended the public school in Hamilton County and Teachers College at Cedar Falls, after which she taught four years of public school. She kept house for her brother Otis, no the farm until he passed away in 1934. In 1938 she left the farm and resided in Story City when she and her sister, Carrie, who had returned from China, moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. She was employed in Minneapolis for 13 years. In 1957 she returned to Story City where she has since been living. Two of her sisters, Carrie and Elsie, were missionaries to China for many years, and also a niece, Bulah Anfinson Mathre who has been a missionary to the Sudan Mission for over 30 years.

Miss Olson passed away at the Story City Memorial Hospital on Monday morning May 29 at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 15 days. Her father, mother, brother, Otis, sisters Martha Anfinson, Nellie Hermanson, Carrie, Birdie Anfinson, Elsie Stokstad, Mabel (who passed away in infancy), Lena have all preceded her in death.

A brother-in-law, Rev. Christian Stokstad of Santa Rosa, Calif., along with several nieces and nephews survive her.
