'LON' JACKSON CALLED BY DEATH

HAD BEEN LONG TIME RESIDENT OF NEVADA AND MEMBER M. E. CHURCH.

A. A. "Lon" Jackson, 75, longtime and well known citizen of Nevada, died at his home on Avenue E, Friday afternoon and the funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, of which he was a member.

The body, accompanied by relatives left here last night for Nelson, Neb., where it will be interred in the family burying ground.

Andrew A. Jackson was born in Boone county, Indiana May 14, 1850. When six years of age his parents moved to Story county, Iowa when he grew to manhood and lived for the next 25 years. On December 30, 1869 he was united in marriage to Miss Fannie J. Williams and to this union eight children were born one child dying in infancy. The living are John L., Mountain Grove, Mo.; William E.. Palm Creek, Okla.; Mrs. Belle Sargent, Sanger Calif.; Charles O., North Platte, Neb.; Mrs. Anna E. Moss, Wellfleet, Neb.; Arthur, Angus, Neb.; and Mrs. Mildred Chamberlain, Nelson, Neb.

In 1881 he moved with his family to Guthrie county, Iowa living there for three years, then moving to Neb. Here is wife died Feb. 2, 1902. In 1906 he returned to Story county and on November 29, 1906 he was united in marriage to Ellen person, since, making their home in Nevada, Iowa.

Mr. Jackson was a devout Christian a faithful member of the Methodist church where he was a regular attendant for many years. During his last illness he expressed his faith frequently and that he was prepared to go when the Lord should call. The summons came on November 13, 1925 at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 29 days. He was the last surviving member of a family of 12 children. He leaves to mourn his death the wife, seven children, grandchildren, numerous relatives and many friends.
