OBITUARY OF MR. KERN

Passing of Well Known Collins Resident.

Special to the Journal.
Collins, Dec. 15.--Albert Kern was born Jan. 25, 1868, in Noble County, Indiana, and passed away at his home in Collins, Iowa, December 1, 1924, age 56 years, 9 months and 5 days.

While a small boy he moved with his parents to Allegan County, Michigan, where he grew to manhood and was married to Miss Katherine Blain in the year 1890. To this union were born six children, all of whom are living.

He came to Iowa with his family and parents in 1895 where he has since resided till the present time.

In 1910 he was baptised into the Christian fait by W. H. Sandy, who was then of pastor of Church of Christ at Ira, Iowa.

Bert, as everyone knew him, had many friends, and to know him was to love him. He had a wonderfully cheerful spirit, always looking on the bright side of live, and ever cheering others in his own delightful way. The loss in not ours alone, but to all who knew him.

He leaves behind, the wife, six children, two brothers, five sister, and many friends. The funeral was held at the Church of Christ at Collins, Friday afternoon, December 5th, conducted by Rev. W. H. Sandy of Knoxville, Iowa.
