Special to the Journal:
Cambridge, April 29--The body of the late Frank E. Scott, 72, pioneer and longtime rural mail carrier out of the Cambridge post office, who died in Des Moines Saturday was laid to rest in the family lot in the Cambridge cemetery Monday, after services at the Dahlstrom Funeral home in Des Moines.

The services were in charge of Rev. Andrews of the Church of Christ. Three favorite hymns were sang by the choir and six of his nephews served as pallbearers.

He leaves four children, all of them now located in California and unable to get here for the funeral service. A large floral blanket from them, covered the casket, however.

Mr. Scott, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Scott, Sr., was born in Illinois, seventy-two years ago April 19. He came with his family to Story county when a small lad and they settled on a farm five miles north of Cambridge. Nearly his entire life had been spent in this community, during which time he served thirty years as a rural mail carrier, retiring about six years ago.

His health had been failing him of late and he had moved to Des Moines where he had been taking treatments. His condition had been considered critical for the past year.

He leaves besides the two sons and two daughter in California, a brother John Scott of Nevada and two sisters Mrs. Lottie Elliott and Mrs. Hattie Elliott of Cambridge.

Among those from here attending the rites in Des Moines were Mr. and Mrs. George Clawson, Kenneth Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. John Thorson, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Brown, Mrs. Jasper Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Carney, the brother John of Nevada and a large number of relatives of the deceased. Also a number of friends had gathered at the cemetery to meet the funeral cortege.
