Funeral Services for Held Tuesday for Mrs. Ann Louks

Cambridge, May 12--Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the United Brethren church here for Rachel Ann Louks, 77, who died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Harry Elliott here Friday.All of her children were present except on son, Marchal who was unable to come for services. The pall bearers were six grandsons, Bert and Carl Denton, Carroll, Virgil and Burl Louks and Joe Severson.
Mrs. V. C. Gould of Ames had charge of the services. Music was furnished by Rev. Zike, Mrs. Kingdon and Mrs. Boles. The two songs were her request, "O Gentle Presence" and "Good Night" and "Good Morning."
Rachel Ann Christy, eldest daughter of John M. and Amanda Christy, was born December 2, 1859 in Tipton county, Indiana. She departed this life May 7, 1937 at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 5 days at the home of her daughter, Sylvia Elliott of Cambridge.
She was united in marriage February 9, 1876, to James Allen Louks. They had journeyed together for almost fifty-nine years when he passed on two years ago. To this union ten children were born, seven sons and three daughters. They are Frank of Guckeen, Minn., Harry of Nevada, Chester of Miles City, Montana, Ovid of Slater, Marshal of Missoula, Montana, Edith Jennett of Hoopeston, Illinois, Ethel Denton of Maxwell and Sylvia Elliott of Cambridge. Two sons preceded her in infancy. She leaves three brothers, Will Christy of Champaign, Ill., and Jess and Dave Christy of Nevada, also one sister, Mrs. M. M. Day of Nevada. She also leaves twenty-nine grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren.
Rachel Ann Christy gave her life into the hands of her Creator at the age of 15 years, when she joined the Missionary Baptist church. She was immersed and lived faithful to her belief until she accepted the Christian Science belief. For forty-eight years her only physician was her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to whom she remained faithful to the end.
She departed this life as quietly as she had lived. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her beautiful trust in her Saviour will be a guiding star to her family throughout the years.
