Hold Final Rites For Mrs. Louise McQuillin

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, June 17, for Mrs. Louis McQuillin, 91, at the Colo Evangelical United Brethren church. Rev. Dennert, pastor of the Zearing Evangelical U. B. church was in charge of the services being assisted by the Rev. Otto Hoffner, pastor of the Colo church.

Music consisted of two numbers, "Ivory Palaces" and "Abie With Me", by Mrs. Walter Bamford and Mrs. Charles Yeager. Mrs. Ralph Schnur presided at the piano, providing a medley of sacred numbers preceding the services and also accompanying the duets.

Casket bearers were Will H. Donaldson, Art Perry, Fred Blickensderfer, Roy Brouhard, Charles Fleming and Nelson Perry.

Mr. McQuillin was one of the pioneers of the Colo community and with her husband game much of her time and talents to the welfare of community people.

Obituary

The following obituary was read by the pastor during the services: Mary Louise McQuillin was born in Drewitz, Germany, Oct. 3, 1858. At the age of six she came with her parents, Anna and Martin Lux [should be Lax], to Canada, where she grew to young womanhood. She later came to Colo, where she was united with the United Evangelical church.

On June 21, 1894, she was united in marriage to John McQuillin who passed away in 1915. Ten years ago she went to the Western Old People's Home at Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she remained until her death on June 13, at the age of 90 years, eight months and 10 days.

Survivors

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. G. F. Rinehart of Pomona, Calif., four grandchildren, Mrs. F. E. Fluegel of Cedar Rapids, Carroll Rinehart of Fullerton, Calif., Claire Rinehart and Adelaide Rinehart of Pomona, Calif.

Her husband, parents and one brother preceded her in death.

Relatives and friends attended the services from Pomona, Calif., Cedar Rapids, Nevada, Hollandale, Minn., Ames and Collins.

The ladies of the Evangelical Aid society served a lunch to the members of the funeral cortege at the church parlors, following the graveside services.
