OBITUARY

DR. J. F. HACKETT

Dr. J. F. Hackett was born near Readsburg, Wisconsin, May 31, 1858 and died at the home of his daughter in Maxwell, Iowa Sunday evening, May 9, 1915 at the age of 56 years, 11 months, and 9 days.

On October 14, 1886 he was united in marriage at Kellogg, Iowa, to Miss Dora Pulse. Three daughters were the issue of this happy marriage. Two of these were twins and both died at the age of six years and six months. The only surviving child is Mrs. E. B. Powers of Maxwell. He also leaves his wife, one sister, Mrs. C. J. Irish of Kellogg, two grand children.

Dr. Hackett took sick about six years ago and gradually grew weaker until last November when he decided to go south for his health. Coming to Maxwell to visit his daughter before going to his new homes he rapidly became worse and died as stated above.

When quite a young man Dr. Hackett united with the Church of Christ and has lived a faithful member ever since.

Funeral services was held at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. E. B. Powers on Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock conducted by Dr. E. J. Nickerson minister of the Church of Christ. The remains, accompanied by his wife, left on the morning train, Wednesday, for Exeter, Nebraska, where he will be laid to rest by the side of his children.
