OBITUARY

JOHN HEALD

John Heald passed away at his home in Nevada, Iowa, December 30, 1914, after a lingering illness of several years. He was born in Columbiana County, Ohio, September 7, 1839 and at his death was aged 75 years, 3 months and 23 days. He came to Iowa with his parents in the year 1850, locating in Jefferson county , and he lived near or at Fairfield in that county for nearly all the rest of his life. On April 10, 1861, he was united in marriage with Malinda Grammar, who survives him as do five of their six children, Mrs. S. B. Bishop, who resides six miles south of Fairfield; Mrs. E. E. Gardner of Columbus, Ohio; Dr. D. W. Heald of Nevada, Iowa; Dr. J. E. Heald of Eldora, Iowa, and Florence, who is at home. His early life was spent in teaching, but he was a farmer through his most active years. About three years ago he moved to Nevada. About 1860 hw embraced the views of the Seventh-day Adventists in which he remained a faithful and consistent member unto death, Funeral services were held at Nevada, and the remains were taken to Fairfield for interment.
