OBITUARY

JORGEN PETERSEN

Jorgen Petersen, a long-time resident of this city, died Friday at the home near the old fair ground of his son, George Petersen, and his funeral was conducted from the Lutheran church Saturday afternoon by Rev. Shirck. The deceased was about 75 years of age, and he came almost directly from his native Denmark to Nevada in 1869, since which time he had lived here or here about. On the same ship coming over were N. J. Nelson, now of Grant township, and Lars Madison of this city, and though they had never met before they were aboard ship, yet they did meet there, all of them came to Nevada, and the trio Mr. Peterson is the first to go. Besides the son named Mr. Peterson leaves two married daughters, Mrs. M. Mathison and Mrs. Henry F. Elliott.
