ZEARING
Mrs. Martha Castle of Marshalltown died at the St. Thomas hospital at 6 o'clock Saturday evening of peritonitis, following an operation for the removal of a gangrenous appendix performed about midnight on March 19th. Mrs. Castle was a Miss Buffington, born in Monroe, Ills., March 8th, 1870. She became the wife of Eber Castle at Colo in 1888. He died Feb. 12, 1893 at Monroe, Ill., and Mrs. Castle moved to Marshalltown about three years after her husband's death. Surviving Mrs. Castle are two sons and two daughters, Richard and Jewell Castle, Mrs. Ben Holland of Marshalltown and Mrs. C. H. Arneson of Minneapolis, Minn., and her mother, Mrs. Sarah Buffington, who is living at Nevada. She also leaves to mourn her loss, six brother and three sisters, Clinton of Clarement, South Dakota, Daniel of Tama, John of Camp Douglas, Wis., Aaron and George of Colo, Philip of Titonka, Mrs. C. E. Hix of Nevada, Mrs. Chas. Ginter of Colo and Mrs. Lulu Kline of Nevada. Mrs. Castle was a member of the Central Church of Christ at Marshalltown and Rev. W. M. Baker had charge of the funeral services which were held at Pursel chapel at 8:30 Tuesday morning. The body was brought to Zearing Tuesday where services were held at the Church of Christ at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. W. McLaughlin. Interment was made in the cemetery at this place.
