Death of Mrs. Martha Castle

Many Colo people still remember Mrs. Martha Buffington Castle and will be grieved to learn of her death which occurred at St. Thomas hospital in Marshalltown Saturday, March 5, 1916. About ten days ago she was taken ill with acute appendicitis and was taken to the hospital where she underwent an operation but the disease had gotten beyond control and all efforts to restore her health proved of no avail. She leaves to mourn their loss four children all of whom were with her during her last hours, her mother Mrs. Sarah Buffington of Nevada and several brothers and sisters, besides numerous other relatives and friends. Her husband passed from this life nearly a score of years ago. Mrs. Castle and her children have lived in Marshalltown quite a number of years. Funeral services were held in the Christian church at Zearing this afternoon and interment made in the Zearing cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Ginter and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Buffington of Colo attended the funeral services. The deceased was a sister of Mrs. Ginter and Mr. Buffington. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.
