OBITUARY
REUBEN ORVILLE SOLYST
Reuben Orville Solyst, son of Tella and the later Benhard Solyst, was born in Garden City, Iowa and passed away at the Story City Memorial Hospital October 22, 1960 at the age of 55 years, 3 months and 26 days. he had been in ill health for the last two years.
Reuben was confirmed in the Bergen Lutheran Church by Pastor Smedal, and graduated from the Roland High School. On June 18, 1932, he was united in marriage to Alma Anderson. To this union two children were born, Dwayne and Sharen Kay. Mr. Solyst was preceded in death by his father and son, Dewayne. He is survived by his wife Alma and daughter, Sharen Kay. Also surviving are his mother and five sisters, Florence Solyst, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Mattie Bomberger, Elaine (Mrs. Loyd Smith) both of Des Moines, Iowa, Bernice (Mrs. Arnold Newton) Elkurn, Ill., Julia (Mrs. Bill Christy) Nevada, Iowa, and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends by whom he will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 25th at the Erickson Funeral Home at the Bergen Lutheran Church, with Pastor Howard Lybeck officiating.
The Bergen Sextette sang two number, "Beautiful Savior" and "Beyond the Sunset."
Interment was in the Roland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sherman Charlson, Willie Wicks, Ansel Mortvedt, Laverne Buland, Ted Sampson and C. P. Thompson.
