OBITUARY

MRS. SARAH LACKEY

Mrs. Sarah Lackey of this city died at the home here of her daughter, Mrs. T. E. Williams, after a protracted illness. She was born Sarah Stallings in Postville, Illinois, March 9, 1845; but she removed as a child to Marshall county, Iowa, where she grew up, married and spent by far the greater part of her life. Her husband, William Lackey, died in 1903, and in recent years she had been living with her children, principally with her daughter, Mrs. Williams. She leaves also four sons, Bert of Marshalltown, Charles of Madrid, John of Glenville, Minn., and Claude of Leith, N. Dak. She also left a surviving brother, F. A. Stallings of Zearing. Brief funeral services were conducted at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Williams Monday forenoon, and the body was taken for interment in the Timber Creek cemetery in the neighborhood of the old home in Marshall county and where the husband and father was buried.
